Little Heroes at INCARE: Prevention That Makes Sense

At INCARE, we had the opportunity to participate in the educational project Little Heroes (Malí hrdinové), which focuses on the basics of first aid for primary school children.

The program was attended by students from grades 1–3 of the PJZŠ Horáčkova primary school. Through interactive and hands-on learning, they mastered the basic principles of behavior in crisis situations—from identifying danger to responding correctly and calling for help.

The primary emphasis was on clarity, a safe environment, and the chance to practice individual scenarios. The goal of the project is not to turn children into paramedics, but to boost their confidence, their ability to stay calm, and their courage to act if needed. It is precisely these skills that can play a vital role in real-life situations; children can unexpectedly find themselves as witnesses to an event where every second counts.

The Little Heroes project thus represents a meaningful form of prevention that develops not only practical knowledge but also responsibility, empathy, and self-confidence.

Our sincere thanks go to our colleagues, Bára and Sára from INCARE, who have been implementing this project long-term, dedicating their time and energy above and beyond their regular professional duties.
